How does the DTF printer work?

Operating a DTF printer is not difficult and does not require any pre-processing steps. Then, if you are new to this industry, you do not need to worry about the complicated operation process. Generally speaking, the process of DTF printers is as follows:

Step 1: Use software to refine the image. CADLink, photoprint, maintop and other software are commonly used image processing software.

Step 2: Use a DTF printer to print the image. The DTF printer can be set up in advance and then it can print the image automatically.

Step 3: Cure the pattern by shaking the powder machine. In the past, people needed to manually spread the powder into a film. However, with the development of technology, the invention of the all-in-one powder shaker can automatically spread the powder into a film and cure the powder and ink in one stop in an oven.

Step 4: Transfer the film onto the fabric. Use a heat press machine to press for 10-15 seconds. Machine temperature should be 135~165℃.

What do you need for DTF printing?

In addition to the DTF printer, other consumables are important to complete the entire print.

1.Hot melt powder. Hot melt powder is specially produced and professionally used in DTF printers. It has a bonding effect during the printing process.

2.DTF film. DTF film usually has a thickness of 90μ and is characterized by strong ink absorption, easy tearing and anti-static. DTF films with different visual effects, such as reflective color film, laser film, glow-in-the-dark film, thermochromic film, and shiny film, have been invented to meet the diversified needs of the market.

3.DTF Ink. DTF ink plays a vital role in producing high quality prints. It is less prone to fading, cracking and flaking, ensuring long-lasting prints.

4.Heat Press machine. After printing the image, a heat press machine is needed to transfer the pattern to the fabric.

5.RIP software. In order to successfully print the pattern, the image first needs to be processed into a special format in the computer. This will require RIP software. The most commonly used RIP software is CADLink, photoprint and maintop.

6.Powder Shaker. Powder shakers play a vital role in the DTF printing process, as a good quality powder shaker will spray the powder evenly and remove any remaining powder. If there is excess powder around the edges of the pattern, it will stain the garment.

7.Curing Oven. A curing oven is a machine that melts and cures the powder applied to the surface of the DTF film.
